22nd Annual Armenian Youth Foundation Golf Tournament Raises Over $20K

The Armenian Youth Foundation’s Golf Committee reported a successful 2022 Golf Tournament after the Foundation had a rain date delay of its annual fundraising event, originally scheduled for June 27, 2022.  After a two-week postponement, the 2022 annual golf tournament was successfully held at Franklin Country Club in Franklin, MA on Monday, July 11.

The Franklin Country Club has hosted prestigious regional and national LPGA, MGA and USGA events over the years. Known as one of the region’s more difficult private courses, this year’s winners were John Perry - Gross Division score of 76, Peter Alemian - Net Division score of 72 and Gary Najarian - Callaway Division score of 73.

This was Gary’s first time at the Foundation’s event and he took home the Callaway Division winnings. Peter Alemian, a long time Foundation Board Member who recently retired from the Board after 26 years of service, took home the Net Division honors. In the tradition of this event, the Foundation presents a “Long Drive” award which is made to the participant who traveled the furthest to the event. The 2022 Long Drive was awarded to Michael Kevorkian of Boca Raton, FL.

The golf tournament is a cornerstone fundraising event for the Armenian Youth Foundation which allows the organization to continue to offer financial support to a wide range of worthwhile organizations benefiting Armenian-American youth.

This year’s event benefited from over 65 sponsorships from Hole, Green and Tee donors as well as a field of golfers who helped raise more than $20,000 to benefit the Foundation’s Capital Fund.
